THE WOMAN LAKE OUTPOST PLAN

 

 

 

 

 

The Woman Lake outpost is located 15 miles north of Canada North Lodge in the heart of excellent fishing. The outpost is accessible only by water and is positioned on a scenic point overlooking Little Woman Lake which is centrally located on the Woman River Chain of Lakes. The lake chain has excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and lake trout. To the north of the outpost is Big Woman Lake to the south of the outpost is Big Bear Lake & Middle Lake, all within 10 miles of the outpost in either direction.

Your fishing trip is not confined to one lake, you have many options. For the ambitious fisherman there is over 30 miles of quality fishing available on 7 lakes without portage. The many islands, points, narrows, and water depths which vary from 10 feet to over 130 feet, offer a excellent variety of fishing structure. The lakes are narrow and not large, offering good fishing and protection from the wind even on the windiest of days. The outpost has been completely rebuilt and refurbished - inside and outside.

  • New windows w/screens - plenty of cross ventilation for summer use.

  • New outside deck & balcony surrounding 3 sides of the building.
  • Exterior log siding - building is varmint proof.
  • New roof with attic ventilator to remove summer heat off of the attic. Making cabin cooler.
  • New interior walls with 1x6 tongue & grove knotty pine siding.
  • New ceiling, base boards, window trim, and ceiling trim.
  • New sub-flooring covered with tough Armstrong tile. Easy to keep clean.
  • On demand hot water heater.

The cabin itself is very clean, well maintained and includes the following features.

  • Kitchen cabinets w/Formica counter top and sink.
  • Propane Heat - thermostatically controlled.
  • Solar Electric interior lighting and water pump.
  • Propane refrigerator, w/freezer - placed just outside the door for your safety and protection.
  • Propane cooking stove w/oven.
  • Cooking utensils - plates, cups, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, skillets, pitchers, bowls, etc.
  • Bunks with foam mattresses which sleep 6 comfortably
  • Outside Balcony surround 2 sides of the outpost. Great place to relax after a day of fishing.
  • Floating, anchored dock for 2 boats.
  • Kitchen double sink - unlimited hot and cold water.
  • Bathroom - shower & vanity - unlimited hot & cold water.
  • And of course - the old' faithful outhouse.
  • Outdoor Bar-B-Q grill.
  • Outdoor Fish Cooker. Just bring your own oil and you are ready.

You bring your own food, towels, personal items and bedroll.

Included in the plan are 16' boats w/ New 25hp Mercury Motors which comfortably fish 3 persons & 5 gallons of gasoline per day per boat. The boats are kept at the lodge for your pickup and are very clean, dry, and well maintained. They are equipped with swivel seats, depth finders, paddles, life vests, landing net and minnow bucket. Your trip to the cabin will be assisted by one of our guides at no charge. Your return trip is not assisted.

The outpost is licensed for an occupancy of 6 persons. The cabin can be booked for 4 to 6 persons on a Saturday to Saturday basis, a full 7 day fishing trip, or any portion thereof. Other options available include: guide service, additional boats, and evening meals booked at the main lodge.
