IN-FISHERMAN magazine describes Rainy Lake
as an explosive small-mouth lake that has not reached its top end yet. Rainy Lake is a big lake - however, there are countless numbers of islands and bays to break up the expanse. The long fingers of water that make up the various "arms" of Rainy Lake support an underwater structure that never quits. The reefs and drop-offs are unbelievable!

You will be able to catch lots of 3-4 Ib smallmouth bass all season long. Every year, quite a few guests will hook and play a smallie 5 Ib+! The northern pike average 8-15 Ibs with the upside potential of 20 Ibs +.

Throughout the season, we tend to favor casting with artificial bait, 6-8 Ib test line and light tackle.

Top-water bass fisherman should consider the last part of May to the end of June.
Northern fishing is the best in September.
